This may happen, because furnitures tend to comes in use most of the time, so they becomes more weak and end up while being broked up. And later the expenses on buying a new piece of furniture every year or simultaneously can create a big whole, so it is better to apply some tricks and repair those broken piece of furnitures rather than throwing them out of your home. There are various kinds of furnitures available in the market, some are heavy and some are light so the duration to repair them may differentiate accordingly, however antique and heavy furnitures requires more repairing tools rather than canvas furnitures. Moreover, a hammer, few nails, wood glue, sandpaper and clamps are the common required things to repair any kind of furniture.

 
Detect the problem area, inspect if it is surface area, which need repairing or above area, and then work on it accordingly, but do make sure that you may not harm the furniture polish of your furniture. And even if there are several scratches has appeared than use furniture polish, (which is easily available in the market) so that you can re-polish that particular area in order to hide those scratches.

 
However, it is always advisable to firstly check if the furniture has any stains on it, and if yes, than use detergent solution and apply it on affected area while rubbing it repeatedly. After the stain has removed completely than only start polishing your furniture, this will add new shine in your furniture.
